Every time Melissa go to ask her college professors a question she return back changing her mind to ask her friends instead, her friends seems more friendly and caring than her lecturer that she always remember that he has her marks and isn't interested in her naïve questions as he is professional in his subject.

She feared that her whole course could be in danger when he take a certain impression about her through her question, but that was not the case with Joe, he know how to approach elder people and ask them any question he want, as he knew that they feel enjoyed when a student is interested in his field that he spent his life time for.

Melissa has two ideas that confuse her when thinking about approaching elder people

1. Feeling fearful on being herself in front of elder ones, as she don’t like being someone else.

2. Saying what they want to hear, which make her feel less self esteemed.

Melissa is right about her feelings, as she felt being herself asking questions for elder people - especially ones that play a master role in her life - isn't helping, and let her college professors feel insecure.

You should never outshine your master, he may not respond in the short run, but his long run respond can be fatal, as you took away lights from him by being yourself, you stolen his majesty and his self respect.

Melissa is right about her second feeling unless she changed her idea about being less self esteemed when she say what her college professors want her to say.

She focused enough on saying what her college professors want to hear, she make some effort on knowing the most common words and terminologies he used in his lecture, write it in her note book, and revise it before she ask him after the lecture.

Melissa put two ideas in her mind

1. To never outshine her college professors by being herself when asking questions

2. To ask questions to elder people as they feel important, confident and worthy taking in consideration to using words they use in the lecture.
